Hi, I’m Tracy Weldon and I passionately create children’s books! I have always had a deep love and appreciation for books for kids. They have an unparalleled ability to introduce complex concepts in a simple yet impactful way. Through captivating illustrations and carefully constructed words, valuable lessons come to life for children and adults to learn from and grow through. Kids’ books allow children to view exciting and challenging topics through a safe, soft, and digestible lens. It is my privilege to share stories with your classroom, library, and in your home. I view each book I create as a celebration of the potential of a child’s mind.
My career has always included a blend of writing and creative endeavors. In 2004, I took a role as a marketing director and fully immersed myself into a world of imagination and innovation. Within a few years I started my own business as the co-founder of a creative agency that specialized in medicine. The marketing firm provided services to physicians as well as healthcare and device companies around the world. Over the span of a decade, our agency created and printed over 13 million marketing materials for clients world-wide.
My work running the firm allowed me to explore unique ways to bring people information. In addition to serving our clients, my role provided me tremendous opportunities for writing and public speaking. I co-authored three non-fiction books, published a marketing book that sold over 25,000 copies globally, helped create a New York Times best-selling non-fiction book, and wrote and published over 100 print magazine and journal articles.

During this time, I was delighted to travel the world lecturing on creativity and innovative communication strategies. I delivered over 500 lectures in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, Turkey and throughout the United States.
My leadership roles within different societies and organizations allowed me to serve as course director at over 25 international conferences. Through my work with clients, I secured media placements on ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC, WGN, and the History Channel and curated print features in The Oprah Magazine, Chicago Parent, Elle, Glamour, Maria Claire, Life & Style, InTouch, Self, US Weekly, Vogue, and W Magazine.
Throughout this journey, my lifelong love for writing and artful communication was heightened. As I traveled the world meeting people, I was always amazed that many of the greatest challenges adults are faced with are the same concepts we start exploring in early childhood. Complex notions like kindness, patience, love, empathy and determination are present at every age and stage of life. I collected notes over the years for books I wanted to create for children based on my experiences.
In 2015, I sold my marketing agency to a leading healthcare company. As this chapter closed, I excitedly delved into my next endeavor, taking with me ideas, inspiration, and lessons learned from my travels and time in a creative world. I took children’s book writing classes at the University of Chicago and worked with a seasoned coach to learn the art of creating literature for children. As I explored this world, I was flooded with ideas to share on creativity and social and emotional development.
TODAY, I AM FILLED WITH TREMENDOUS GRATITUDE AS A WIFE AND MOM TO TWO, FUN-LOVING, AND RAMBUNCTIOUS BOYS THAT FILL ME WITH INSPIRATION AND WONDER.
I have the privilege of putting pen to paper and bringing books to life. What I write now is inspired by the time I spend with my kids. Almost daily, a topic they are working through, a story from school, a conversation during a playdate, or simply an activity in our house prompts me to say, “that would make a great children’s book!” Kids are to me the ultimate source of inspiration. Their passion and zest for knowledge mixed with their delicate innocence creates a beautiful window through which to view the world. Their vibrancy in interactions and deep appreciation for small details, allow them to see and feel things that adults have often forgotten. My dream is to create literature that helps fuel growth during this precious time of their life. I strive to create books that inspire kind actions, personal development, and limitless adventures.
